Original Griffining Logos and Artwork: Preserved Site Graphics

The earliest Griffining.com was more than a stream of fan photos. Its identity also lived in lettering, illustrations, a recognizable silhouette, and promotional imagery built around Robert Griffin III’s seated touchdown celebration. The site owner retained some of those files, which have been uploaded to this restoration. This page keeps them together as visual evidence of the original website.

Provenance note: These are owner-supplied files from the earlier Griffining collection, restored to WordPress in October 2026. Their visual association with the original site is documented by the owner and surviving archived pages; exact design dates, the creator of every asset, and historical usage of each variant are not independently established. The dates attached to the current WordPress media files are restoration dates, not original publication dates.

Original site wordmark

The original Griffining wordmark preserved in the owner’s artwork files.

The bold lettering helped connect the site’s photos to a single recognizable name. The restored site keeps the original branding available as an archive object rather than silently replacing it with a newly invented logo.

RG3 pose illustration

An original illustration from the archived Griffining artwork collection.

Unlike a photograph of one particular fan, this illustration depicts the common gesture: sitting down and raising both arms. The gesture is what made the 2012 meme portable—anyone could recreate the scene in a stadium, classroom, living room, or on a trip.

Promotional #GRIFFINING graphic

Surviving #GRIFFINING promotional graphic from the owner’s 2012 site collection.

The graphic ties the hashtag directly to the defining sports image. It is an archival graphic, not a newly made advertisement or a claim that this specific file was shared at a particular hour on social media.

Small silhouette and site icon

A compact silhouette used for the original site’s icon; displayed at its native 40 × 34-pixel size.

Small icons can be easy to lose when an old website is taken offline. Preserving the tiny original file alongside the larger artwork lets readers and future researchers distinguish an authentic archived design element from a later reconstruction.

Why the distinction between artwork and submissions matters

Graphic assets document the site’s identity, while restored fan submissions document the people who participated. This art archive does not count toward the 40 restored fan photographs, and a graphic that features Griffin or the pose is not evidence that an unrelated fan image appeared on the original website.
